Local workshops planning for capacity building of rural women in Senegal

In the course of the Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women program (FLOW), there are two decentralized training sessions scheduled in Senegal, more specifically in Podor and Vélingara.

The Podor session has been planned to take place during the month of July 2014. Twenty Female members of organizations, women's associations and the civil society will be trained there sessions. In addition, the Velingara (Kolda) session planned for the month of October 2014, will train 20 women coming from Kaffrine, Casamance, Tambacounda Vélingara etc.

These training will be conducted by facilitators trained during the sub-regional workshop, which held from January 24th to 29th, 2014 at the Hotel Africa Queen Somone (Mbour, Senegal).

The objectives of these training sessions are the capacity building of women on issues related to gender and agriculture, food security, biodiversity and human rights and the development of strategies for the establishment of an extensive network to advocate towards policy makers on women rights.
